The MBS Direct bookstore will go live on July 1 and you will receive your student’s schedule soon after that.  Once you have the schedule in hand, you can go on the MBS website, search for Elgin Academy, and find out what books your student will need for his or her classes.  You may purchase books from MBS Direct or another source such as Amazon or from the Upper School Book Sale (The US book sale is in Edwards Hall on July 24 from 10--12 and 6--8 and August 13 from 10—12. Proceeds from the sale go to support scholarships to the spring break service trip to Nicaragua.)

Speaking of books, we know it’s early in the summer, but you might want to offer your student a gentle reminder about his or her summer reading assignments.  US Summer Reading List. Students can also find this list on the Elgin Academy website.

Fred Fletcher, Mary Hannert, and Stephanie Merrill are retiring from Elgin Academy at the end of this school year. All three of these extraordinary educators have served our school for remarkable tenures, both in length and in quality. While their gain is unquestionably our loss, this is clearly a moment to celebrate the legacies they are leaving behind.
