Senior Speeches Begin Next Week!
Speeches for the Class of 2015 will take place every Tuesday and Thursday in the Learning Center in Edwards Hall, beginning Tuesday, February 10 through Tuesday, April 21. Congratulations Tommy Guyett '22
Fifth grader and Middle School Geographic Bee champion, Tommy Guyett has qualified to compete in the state level competition of the National Geographic Bee. The state Bee will be held on Friday, March 27, 2015 at the College of DuPage, in Glen Ellyn. We are all very proud of Tommy and wish him the best of luck at the State Geographic Bee!

WYSE Team Wins Fourth Place at State!
Elgin Academy is proud of our Upper School WYSE (Worldwide Youth in Science and Engineering) team! Fourteen of our WYSE members competed at the state finals at the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana, on Thursday, April 16.

Tech Savvy Middle Schoolers Lobby State Representatives
Elgin Academy was one of 66 schools represented throughout the state of Illinois at the annual TECH 2015-Students for Information Age. The event was held in May at the State Capitol Building in Springfield. EA middle school students had the opportunity to show the public and elected members of the Illinois State Senate and the House of Representatives how technology is being used in the classroom to increase student engagement and improve achievement.

3-D Printers Arrive at EA!
This past Friday, rising seniors Karl Rauschenberger, Valerie Scimeca, and Devin Üner spent the morning unboxing and installing our two new 3-D Printers. These Printrbot Metal Plus machines, located in the library computer lab, will be used by students of all ages starting this fall.

A Message From The Head of School
Earlier this week, Mr. Seth Hanford sent out an email informing the community about technology updates at Elgin Academy, including information on the the school's technology committee and the plan for the acquisition and implementation of new technology in each division. His letter also contained information about transitioning to Google Applications for Education, the purchase of 3-D printers, the second phase of our wireless project, and the purchase of iPads and Chromebooks for use in classrooms. The Meeting on Mt. Olympus
